QZ privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-06
QZ collects no data. There is no account to create, no server of ours to send anything to, and everything you write stays in your device's browser. The only connections the application can make are listed below.
What the application handles
QZ keeps on the device what you enter or produce by using it: the questions of your exams, your answers, scores, notes, flags, profiles and settings (language, theme).
None of it reaches us: we have no server to receive it.
Where it is kept
In the browser's storage (IndexedDB, falling back to localStorage or to the page's memory alone). If you clear the browser data you also clear your progress, which is why QZ offers a backup file and, if you choose, reminds you to make one. Reports of wrong questions stay on the device until you export them.
QZ uses no cookies.
The connections the application can make
- The typeface. When the page is opened with a network, the browser asks for the Inter typeface from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com, Google services: Google receives the IP address and the ordinary data of a browser request, and handles them under its own policy. Nothing reaches us. Without a network the page uses a system typeface. - The list of exams. If the page is served from a web address, the “Check for exams” button asks that site for its list of exams and the
.examfiles: it is a request to the site that gave you the page. - Syncing with a GitHub Gist (optional). If you turn it on, your progress is sent to
api.github.com, into your own GitHub account, with a token you create (the “gist” permission only). The token stays on the device and is never part of a backup. GitHub handles that data under its own policy; we never see it. - An external link (optional). The application has a link to support its development: if you open it you leave the application and go to another site, which has its own policy.
To work without a network, QZ keeps its own files in a cache on the device (a service worker): it serves files already there and sends nothing.
What is not there
- No account and no sign-up.
- No analytics or statistics service.
- No advertising and no advertising identifier.
- No third-party SDK.
- No cookies.
- No sharing with third parties: we have nothing to share.
How to get QZ
It is downloaded from GitHub (repository fucc74/ExamSimulator). GitHub is a third-party service and handles download requests under its own policy: nothing reaches us.
If you use the “Download” buttons on the QZ page, your browser asks raw.githubusercontent.com (GitHub) for the file and saves it: the file does not pass through our server.
How to delete the data
It is only on your device: from the application's options, or by clearing the site data in the browser. There is no need to ask us: we have no copy. If you turned on syncing, the Gist lives in your GitHub account and you delete it from there.
Who processes the data
The data controller is GIF Web Solutions. For any request concerning this policy or your data, please use the site's contact form, or write to gifwebsolutions (chiocciola) gmail.com.
