Does the QR expire?

Static QR codes contain the data directly and work as long as the image is readable. Dynamic QR codes go through a short link of our service.

Is my data sent to a server?

Not for static QR codes: everything happens in your browser. Only dynamic QR codes store the destination and count scans.
